About Dr Bevan Brown

Welcome! My name is Bevan Brown, I am an obstetrician and gynaecologist working in the Hills district of Sydney. I’m a proud Hills resident have been for many years.

I graduated from the University of Sydney and my specialist training in obstetrics was completed at The Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick and at Liverpool Hospital.

After working for several years as a Staff Specialist and Private Consultant at Liverpool and Sydney Southwest Private Hospital, I moved to the Hills district where I have remained a loyal member of the community ever since

I believe in a caring and compassionate approach to obstetrics and gynaecology, with individualised treatment and strong relationships with my patients being of utmost concern.

In my obstetric practice, I look after patients at Sydney Adventist Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital. I have a particular interest in helping women safely achieve vaginal delivery.

I am a Clinical Senior Lecturer with Australian National University.  I am also Year Co-ordinator for Year 3 of the Medical School. I am also a member of the NSW State Committee of RANZCOG.

Writing is also a passion of mine and I’ve co-authored publications in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and in Australian Doctor Magazine.

I am also a paid editor for the British Medical Journal, and a peer reviewer for the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

I maintain a keen interest in the medical and surgical management of heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic floor reconstructive surgery, and the treatment of fibroids.

In my spare time I wind down by playing guitar, working at my photography, and spending time with my wife and our six children. Being a dad myself has deepened my understanding of pregnancy and childbirth, and my empathy for women going through these experiences.
